Will continue to pray for that, as well as for your own journey with Kayla and learning how to handle the situations that come with her development - balancing the 2 girls, your own ministry/jobs and living in a tumultous land - whew! PTL that God is bigger than all of it, eh?

Summer with Kayla

Thank you for your continued prayers for Kayla. We continue to be challenged each day in new ways by her special needs. The Lord continues to have Kayla in His grip and we see growth along with the hard times. She finished her first year of school well. We are glad that she was able to keep up with her class academically. We had an academic meeting for her at the end of the year and she will go into provisional assistance for 1st grade. She will share an aide with another boy in her class for 3 months and then they will evaluate whether or not she needs to have an aide for the whole year. We had hoped to get her academically tested this summer to find out how she learns and reads but it seems like all the psychologists are out of the country. This summer has been a great time for her and Emma to become actual friends. Seeing as how she pretty much ignored Emma for the first year of her life this has been fun to watch them bond and become little friends. They have had a fun time having sleep overs in each others rooms, playing pretend with Barbie's and learning to swim together. She continues with her supplements and medication twice a day much to her dislike but on some levels they seem to be helping her cope with daily life. Our biggest prayer for her next year is that we can continue to help her learn in her own way and to continue improving on her daily coping skills.

Please will you continue to pray for Kayla and her normal school day that she will be able to focus at school, not be so explosive at home, and continue to grow into a child of God.
